Title: Custom Production Manager
Supervisor’s Title: Vice President – Finance and Operations
Job Description:
The Customer Production Manager will lead Gopher Electronics’ Production Department to insure quality, cost and delivery standards are achieved. The activities of production personnel including workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization will be managed on a daily basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Be highly visible to production staff and create a safe environment. Promote hands-on, high involvement and team approaches to problem solving.
2. Assist in the overall planning of objectives and initiatives for the Production Department; coordinate and execute these efforts with other departments to align with overall Company goals.
3. Be a key driver in growing the Production Department’s Gross Profit dollars.
4. Supervise and manage the Strategic Project Coordinator and the Production Supervisor.
5. Responsible for prompt, accurate customer quotes inside our Core Competencies and the discipline to No-Bid opportunities unfavorable to the Company.
6. Monitor daily work operations and provide direction to production personnel to achieve performance, quality and profitability goals.
7. Insure Production Department performance, quality and safety goals are met.
8. Evaluate in coordination with the Strategic Project Coordinator and Production Supervisor which Production jobs should be done internally and which should be outsourced based upon profitability, resources and quality.
9. Work with the Sales Department to identify value added opportunities with Strategic Customers.
10. Make sales calls with the Sales Department exploring specific value added opportunities.
11. Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities to increase overall quality, efficiency and profitability.
12. Identify and develop appropriate:
a. Training
b. Progressively Challenging Tasks
c. New Opportunities for Profitable Growth
13. Conduct formal written and verbal improvement plans.

Education/Experience
B.A. or B.S. in business, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years in a Production Leadership Role in Electronic & Wire Harness Manufacturing.
Demonstrated technical knowledge in production, quality assurance and costing.
Experience and implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles and MRP systems.
